Struggle for Hindu Existence
The Bangladesh Files: The exhibition will start from the Hindu refugee dominated Jadavpur.
Swaprakasah Das | HENB | Kolkata | March 21, 2022:: An exhibition on the darkest phases of 1971 narrating the plights, exodus and genocide of millions of minority Hindus in neighboring Bangladesh is going to be organized in Kolkata on the initiative of the a NGO named ‘Paschimbanger Janya’ . It is learnt that although it is started in Kolkata first, the organizers have plans to go to different cities of the state with the exhibition. Recently, there has been uproar over the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’. A large numbers of majority people is supporting the cause of the film. The saffron camp is also promoting it. Starting from the Prime Minister Modi and UP CM Yogi Adityanath to state level leaders in various provinces are going in groups to see the picture. Now the Bangladesh counterpart as a form of exhibition is captioned as ‘The Bangladesh Files’.
Although not directly in the name of BJP, many BJP sympathizers and supporters are involved in organizing the exhibition under the body “Paschimbanger Janya ( For West Bengal). One of the leaders of this organization, Mohit Roy, was earlier the head of the refugee wing of the WB BJP. Now one of the spokespersons of the state. He said, “There will be an exhibition through pictures and writings on how Bengali Hindus have been
persecuted in Bangladesh. Although it isto start from Jadavpur, the exhibition will be taken to different parts of the state in the coming days”.
It is conveyed that the first exhibition is being organized in Jadavpur as many refugees from Bangladesh live there. Even after this, the refugeedominated areas will be given importance in
choosing the place for upcoming exhibitions. “The Bangladesh Files”.
The first exhibition will be held next Sunday (27.03.2022) in Palbazar area of Jadavpur. Mohit Roy said, “This is the first time that such an exhibition is being organized on the information of genocide of Bengali Hindus in their homeland.”
This is not the first time that a two-day exhibition ‘For West Bengal’ was organized last December. It was named ‘Bengali Hindu Genocide’. Opposition leader Shuvendu Adhikari inaugurated the exhibition on December 11 at the Jamini Roy Gallery of the ICCR (Indian Council for Cultural Relations) in Kolkata. On Monday, Roy said, “The exhibition was held on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Noakhali genocide in 1946.” However, this time the exhibition of pictures and writings that is being organized will mostly capture the story of the
brutality and persecution that took place in Bangladesh in 1971. Many people died at that time, many women were abused. Many families were forced to flee their homes.”
Recently, various quarters have accused of inciting ‘Hindu Nationalism’ through the film ‘The Kashmir Files’. Is the goal of ‘The Bangladesh Files’ to take the initiative to show in Kolkata the same? In response, Mohit said, “It is wrong to forget the history. Many in this generation have heard from adults exactly what happened 50 years ago . However, that sound often does not have an overall appearance. And the history of that oppression is not
very clear to the present generation. We want to bring those days of oppression to the present generation. You can call it a history lesson. There is no purpose to it. There is no politics.”
Upananda Brahmachari, the eminent Hindu interlocutor and Hindu Existence Website Editor told this reporter that The Bangladesh Files or The Bengal Files, whatever may be; would be much horrible than The Kashmir Files. There are so many researchers like Tathagata Roy, Mohit Roy or Rabindranath Dutta to impart their role as resource persons for making such film in the context of Bangladesh. The Jihadi extremist did a havoc but nobody came forward to reveal the Bangladesh context.
Taking his twitter handle Brahmachari expressed recently, “How about a movie on the killing, exodus and persecution of lakhs of Bengali Hindus, over the decades? From Direct Action Day to Noakhali, from contemporary vandalism of Hindu temples in BD to appeasement politics on religious lines in WB, there is a lot to cover and address. 1/2 ….The tales of ‘The Bengal Files’ (if the film prepared) will be more gruesome and horrible than the “The Kashmir Files”. We will be most thankful and ever grateful if the Team TKF
will take initiative to make TBF. 2/2
